More than 20 speakers — most of whom were former Ben Bronz Academy students –shared their career and educational journeys with current students as part of our Research Week.
Michael Vitarelli (left) is a photographer for Disney World Parks in Florida. He completed the Disney College Program and is currently pursuing a Masters degree from the University of Central Florida and holds a Bachelor’s in Communications from Dean College.
Tavin Noack-Krauland (right) is an independent filmmaker. He has directed multiple award-winning films and documentaries. Tavin earned an Associate’s and Bachelor’s degree and is currently taking classes for stunt acting and directing.
Tavin attended BBA from Fall 2012 to Spring 2014. Michael entered BBA in Fall 2013 and transitioned to another private school in Spring 2016.
Sarra Cardile spoke about her career as a professional drummer. She has studied with drummers, Rich Redmond (Jason Aldean), Jim Riley (Rascal Flatts), Sean Fuller (Florida Georgia Line), Ray Luzier (Korn), Gregg Bissonette (Ringo Star All Star), Brian Frasier Moore (Justin Timberlake and Madonna) to name a few.
She said Ben Bronz taught her to be organized, which has helped when she gets an audition on a moment’s notice.
A former Ben Bronz student shared his career as an emergency electrical lineworker including the dangers and benefits of restoring power lines.
In addition to responding to downed utility poles across Connecticut, he told students he is away from his family for weeks — sometimes months — at a time helping in areas effected by Hurricanes and other natural disasters across the country.
Codi Wayton, who attended Ben Bronz from Fall 2004 to Spring 2008, shared their career of service to others. They are currently a program support coordinator for Connecticut Foodshare. They have a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Connecticut.
Rachel (Dern) Rosenberger is an environmental science and governance assurance assessor.
Rachel attended BBA from January 2004 to June 2007 before receiving her Bachelor’s in Environmental Science from Eastern Connecticut State.
Heather Granja, the director of ACES Early Head Start programs, speaks to students.
Heather holds a Master’s in Early Childhood Education. She attended BBA from Fall 1996 to Spring 1998.
